An inclusive, author-led independent publishing house.
Taylor & Wood Publishing is a small independent publishing house built around authors, not systems.
We work closely with writers to bring books into the world in ways that feel right for them — with care, flexibility, and respect at every stage. There is no single model we expect authors to fit. Instead, we listen, adapt, and shape each publishing journey around the book, the author, and their circumstances.
Author-Led Publishing
We work alongside authors as collaborators, ensuring their voice, intentions, and needs remain central throughout the publishing process.
Editorial & Production Care
From early development to finished book, we provide thoughtful editorial guidance and professional production support, always handling stories with care.
Flexible Publishing Paths
Every book is different. We shape timelines, formats, and processes around each project, recognising that publishing should be able to adapt.
Inclusion in Practice
We actively support authors who are often overlooked, including disabled and neurodivergent writers and those navigating complex life circumstances. Inclusion is not optional — it is how we work.

Nobody Looks Like Princess Pea but Princess Pea
by Silvia Sutherland
Illustrated by Amelia Burke
A thoughtful, tender story about self-acceptance, identity, and learning to see your own worth. Nobody Looks Like Princess Pea, but Princess Pea was written in response to a moment many parents recognise — when a young child begins to question their appearance and compare themselves to others.
Inspired by the author’s own daughter, the story gently explores the pressure placed on young minds to look or be like someone else. Through imagination and conversation, it opens space for children to celebrate who they are, whether they dream of being a princess, a film character, or something entirely their own.
This book invites families, carers, and educators to begin important conversations about confidence, individuality, and the unique brilliance each child carries. Publishing was shaped through close collaboration, with care taken to honour the story’s emotional roots and its message of kindness, reassurance, and belonging.

The Search for an Alpaca
by Louise Holland
Illustrated by Holly Taylor
A warm, gently adventurous story about curiosity, connection, and discovery. The Search for an Alpaca follows Mum and Ben as they wander through a farm in search of an elusive alpaca, meeting a variety of animals along the way.
Through each encounter, the story invites young readers to slow down, notice, and enjoy the journey as much as the destination. This book was published through close collaboration, with care taken to preserve its gentle tone, sense of wonder, and child-led exploration.
These guys took my book from what seemed to me to be a crazy idea which I couldn’t make happen to a reality. I am now a published author and I genuinely could not have done it without their support and guidance. The illustrations Holly did are fantastic and the feedback I get just backs this up. I never would have completed my journey without these two. Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for your support and expertise.!
